Development plan

Planning permission for 132 dwellings granted in July 2014 providing 30% sheltered accommodation and affordable housing.

The site sits on the western edge of Alsager just within the Haslington Parish. To the east and south lie a large area of surburban housing.

Alsager is a highly sustainable village and benefits from a primary & secondary school , shops, medical centre, bank, pharmacy and a train station, as well as many other public amenities. The village is also located in very close proximity to J16 of the M6 and A500.

The site area measures 5.18 hectares (12.8 acres).

November 2012

Option agreements with the landowners completed

March 2013

An outline planning application for 76 family dwellings and 56 dwellings for the over 55’s submitted.

June 2013

The application was recommended for refusal at planning committee and subsequently refused.

SeptemberĀ 2013

Muller launched a planning appeal against the decision

July 2014

The appeal was allowed and in doing so the Council’sĀ five year housing land supply figures were found to be unsound and proved, that in fact, Cheshire East Council could not demonstrate a five year housing land supply.
